The Menard County Sportsman's Club hosted a two day ATA registered trap shooting event on September 26 & 27. Sunday was the annual Illini Indian event. This event featured $1000 added prize money thanks to our great sponsors: Gillmore-Allen Insurance Agency, Petefish, Skiles, & Co., and Sunrise Ag - Virginia. Trophies for Sunday's events were graciously donated by the Illini Indians.

The weather was almost perfect all weekend... Almost... On Saturday, shooters enjoyed mild temperatures, sunny skies, and... wind gusts up to 17mph. Other than the wind, you couldn't have asked for nicer weather for a fall day in Central Illinois. On Sunday, the wind cooperated, but the sunshine disappeared. The temperature was a bit warmer than Saturday and the sun hid behind heavy cloud cover all day long. A sizable crowd took advantage of the favorable weather conditions and posted some very competitive scores. Here's a complete wrap-up of the weekend's events.
